Amit Shah announced after a meeting with newly elected BJP MLAs that Suvendu Adhikari will take over as the next Chief Minister of West Bengal following the party’s historic victory
BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, who defeated Mamata Banerjee in Bhabanipur, was on Friday named as the next chief minister of West Bengal.
“Suvendu will be the new CM of West Bengal,” announced Amit Shah after Adhikari was elected the leader of the BJP’s legislature party in a meeting in Kolkata on Friday afternoon.
The swearing-in ceremony of the new BJP government will be held at Brigade Parade Ground on May 9.
